L'Exception goes to meet its clients. Today, we meet Gilles, IT project manager and client at L'Exception since 2016.

Can you introduce yourself?

Gilles: My name is Gilles, I'm 35 years old and I work as an IT project manager in the insurance industry.

How would you describe your style? What are your influences?

Gilles: My style is sartorial, meaning everything that has to do with the art of costume. I also add a good dose of the 80's and 90's in what I wear.

My influences include Tom Ford, back when he was at Gucci.

What pieces fit your style and are a sure thing for you?

Gilles: I love my coat from L'Exception, that sort of coat-and-robe thing. I also wear a lot of silk shirts.

Are there any movies, media that inspired you?

There are quite a few movies and series that have inspired me, like James Bond, Miami Vice, Magnum, Hawaii Five-0, City Hunter...

Can you express your style at work or do you have to adapt to your environment?

Gilles: : The advantage is that in IT, you can dress a little bit as you want, I just close a few more buttons on my shirt... Otherwise, from Monday to Sunday I wear suits and my dress shoes and it's not a problem.

How did you discover L'Exception?

Gilles: I've been a customer for quite some time, since 2016. I discovered L'Exception through the Orner team, a jewelry brand.

What do you particularly like about L'Exception?

Gilles: There are pieces that are very well sourced with very sharp choices like for Paraboot, Sebago...The artistic direction of L'Exception speaks to me particularly. They are basics with a twist.

What L'Exception Paris pieces do you have in your wardrobe?

Gilles: I have a coat, two sweaters, one powder pink and one beige, that I can wear inside my high-waisted pants and in a puffy effect, it looks good with my suits.

What's your experience at L'Exception?

Gilles: The welcome at L'Exception is always pleasant, the walls may seem cold due to the history of the La Caserne building, but it's all enhanced by the warmth of the humans who work in this place!
