We sat down with Elise Hameau to learn more about the au courant designer and her outlook for the future.

Can you tell us more about your 2018 collection?

Elegant, destination pieces with a 70s urban touch.

Tell us about your most memorable moment whilst creating this collection?

During the design process, I listened to Véronique Sanson’s album, ‘Amoureuse’ on repeat. It takes quite a few weeks to create a whole collection
– so I’ll let you guess how many hours I ended up listening to it! Who wants to do a karaoke battle on the track ‘Besoin de Personne’? ;-)

What is your biggest source of inspiration?

Paris and terraces thronged with people, the films and actors of the Nouvelle Vague, and the singers of the 70s
(Janis Joplin, Joan Baez, Jefferson Airplane, Joni Mitchell….)

If you were getting married tomorrow, what dress would you wear from your collection?

I’m married, so I’ve already worn the dress of my dreams. But if I was going to do it all again, I’d choose something simple like the Romy or Vicky from the 2018 collection – otherwise, it would have to be the Sacha dress from the upcoming ’19 collection out in July.

Exclusive Pop-Up Event – 29th May to 19th June at the L’Exception Flagship Store

From the 29th May to the 19th June, L’Exception will be launching a pop-up store in partnership with Elise Hameau to showcase the ‘Mon Exception’ bomber created in collaboration exclusively as part of the ‘Rouge Amour’ range. Extending her sphere of influence to include this range of anti-establishment elopement pieces, this limited edition design is part of a three-piece capsule collection that includes the Hazel asymmetric ruffle dress and peek-a-boo Olive maxi dress. Available in colour-pop red, this beautifully embroidered ‘Mon Exception’ jacket is the perfect daytime alternative for the big day or everyday wear.
