In 1992, Alexander McQueen launched his own fashion house and has since presented collections that skilfully combine the English tailoring tradition and the know-how of Parisian haute couture with a punkish theatricality.
In 2006, he created a new line, "McQ", whose models were originally made of denim. The McQ collections are aimed at a younger, less sophisticated clientele, to "bridge the gap between two generations" as the designer himself put it.
Razor blades, skulls, swallows, dark florals and other classic McQueen prints appear on scarves, wallets, leggings, sweatshirts and tailored pieces, all of which evoke the brand's signature dark romanticism.
