About Marc Jacobs
Marc Jacobs was born in New York in 1963. In 1984, he graduated from the Parsons School of Design. He was one of the youngest designers to receive the CFDA Perry Ellis Award – New Fashion Talent. After showing his grunge collection to Perry Ellis in 1992, it was two years later that the designer launched his eponymous brand. The creator describes his first collection as "funk, trash, chic", adjectives that still represent his style today.
A first Marc Jacobs store was established in New York Downtown in 1997. The brand, which offers a ready-to-wear line, leather goods, perfumes, make-up and also books, was very quickly successful, and is today a big and famous international company.
