Working in close collaboration with Maison Baluchon, L'Exception has created this original and versatile zip pouch. Cut from a heritage-inspired houndstooth cotton, this Brit-chic design has been given a fresh French identity with a re-worked colourway and luxury leather detailing - the perfect alternative to heavy handbags this season.

The houndstooth twill was first commissioned for Edward VIII, the Prince of Wales as an alternative to the traditional hunting check.
In the 1930s, it was adopted by French design houses like Chanel and Christian Dior in its original monochrome form - even making its way onto the silver screen thanks to vedettes like Audrey Hepburn.
Today, houndstooth has become a retro semaphore, used frequently in contemporary furnishings and statement pieces.

About Maison Baluchon
Since 2012, Maison Baluchon, founded by Nathalie Vidal and Toma Bletner, manufactures all its’ items in the south of Champagne, in Chaumont and its’ surroundings.

Its’ main inspiration comes from Haute-Marne, a wild territory full of forest landscapes and filled with raw authenticity, and from their travels and journey. Léa Le Pivert is at the very heart of the creation of each pattern. She is a free-spirited illustrator with a spontaneous and fluid stroke. Each and every one of her patterns has its’ own story making each one of them unique and exceptional.
As a high-end accessories brand, this young brand commits itself on giving a particular attention to the selected fabrics, so that each of their items is a tribute to Haute-Marne and a crucial item for its’ quality and its’ exclusivity.
