Céline Lareynie first came to attention as a designer. After studying at the Ecole Boulle and at Olivier de Serres, she created her own agency in 2009, specialising in creation, advice on strategy and brand image. She made her name in the field of cosmetics, where she contributed to the identity of such prestigious brands as Lancôme, Guerlain, Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy.

Then came the cataclysm of 2015. Life was overturned and an immense vacuum opened. At times like these, you have to return to basics. When words are not enough, art takes over. Céline Lareynie left her job as Creative Director and, in only two weeks, produced her first collection: Abysses. The brand C. Lareynie was born.

Searching deeply within oneself to discover one's own resources and give back meaning to life : here is all the beauty of resilience. For Céline, this also involved a return to nature, to raw materials and to texture : that of bronze, the preferred medium of sculptors, which brought her back to her first artistic loves.

Welding, sanding, hammering, polishing, Céline mastered the substance and gave life to the object. Still a designer at heart, Céline produces her jewellery as a template, before reworking it in cast iron, so that each piece is unique. There is no question for her of choosing between art, design and craftwork: all three of these approaches are woven into her work.

The result is jewellery which is rugged, unconstrained and full of light. An object which bears its own history and will blend with yours.
