Crafted by hand in the heart of Portugal, these trainers are constructed from the very finest Nappa leather and Italian suede. Each pair has been comforting lined with a 6mm GOTS organic cotton footbed and cushioned with a wild Peruvian rubber outsole.
Working in close collaboration with the WWF, this collection of footwear is a vehicle for social, environmental and economic change - ensuring local Peruvian craftspeople gain a fair wage (5 times the current national average). With a close-knit workforce of 33 regional artisans as part of ECOMUSA, each pair of shoes has a sole made from 60% wild rubber which has been concentrated and pressed to ensure endlessly durability.
To guarantee a luxury feel and comfortable fit, these trainers have been lined with high-grade leather and comfort lined with a memory foam footbed.

Piola works with wild rubber producers located in the Madre de Dios region, in the heart of the Peruvian Amazonian rainforest.
They buy wild rubber directly from producers at 5 times the local market price. When you buy a pair of Piola, you are actively participating in improving the quality of life and work of our producers.
Per pair sold, 2€ are donated for the construction or renovation of rubber workshops, and to help identify rubber trees located in remote areas. We also connect their homes to electricity (using solar panels) and clear water.
Investments are numerous. It contributes to economics, social and infrastructure development.
Using raw materials with an excellent traceability, they ensure quality and know-how. Their production is located in Portugal where they select each of raws materials. Their natural rubber offers flexibility and longevity. The handmade production ensure a refined and modern aesthetic.
