MTD : MTD (MICRO TECH DEVELOPMENT) is the membrane designed, patented and guaranteed for 3 years by AIGLE. This microporous membrane blocks the passage of water and wind. Body moisture is evacuated to the outside for optimal breathability. MTD products protect and provide unparalleled comfort in all weather conditions. The MTD membrane has a water-repellent treatment to prevent the fibre from swelling with water and maintain the appearance of the fabric. The seams of MTD products are sealed with seam tapes for guaranteed waterproofness.
Waterproofness* is measured in Shmerber, an index measured in millimetres, which determines the pressure at which the material begins to let water in.
Breathability is measured in MVTR and is expressed in gr/m2/24 hours, which is the amount of water (in the form of vapour) that the fabric lets through in 24 hours.
*Conforms to ISO 811 Resistance to water penetration. Tested in our laboratory in Châtellerault (France).
