Kaly Ora, durable and reversible swimwear

Could you tell us about the beginning of the Kaly Ora adventure?

Trang: While we grew up in Europe, it was in Asia that we met while both working for a fashion start-up in Bangkok. This experience opened our eyes to the fashion industry's devastating impact on the environment and disrespect for its workers.
We wanted to do things differently, better.
We wanted to participate in some way in protecting our planet by designing eco-friendly items made to last. It was about integrating our values into every step of the process, creating timeless, comfortable designs that you'll love over the years. Kaly Ora was born.

Where does the inspiration for your brand come from?

Trang: We are an inclusive brand, representing the true modern woman from every angle. We advocate timeless, quality clothing to combat fast fashion and bring consumption back to a more minimalist aspect. To this end, we create reversible swimwear models that allow you to buy just one swimsuit, but use it in a variety of ways.

Can you tell us more about your manufacturing processes as well as your workshops?

Trang: We work with small workshops in Turkey, Indonesia and Portugal offering good working conditions, not the opaque factories we visited. We build lasting, trusting relationships with them every day.

Can you tell us more about the eco-responsible/ethical materials you use?

Trang: Our swimwear is made entirely from plastic waste, which is firstly a solution to cleaning up the oceans but also a solution to reducing nylon's impact on climate change by 80%.

How does Kaly Ora take part in "slow fashion"?

Trang: Our sustainability goes far beyond the use of recycled fabrics, we work directly with artisans to bring transparency back into fashion's oh-so-opaque supply chain and produce quality swimwear that's classic yet modern, and above all reversible so you can enjoy it twice as much!

How do you imagine the future of Kaly Ora?

Trang: A timeless swimwear brand that caters for all body types.
