About Momotaro Jeans
Momotaro (the Fishing Boy) is a hero of Japanese folklore whose legend is passed on orally from generation to generation. He is associated with Okayama City, where the story is said to have been invented.
Momotaro is a branch of the Japan Blue Co Ltd group which includes Collect Ltd (founded in 1992), Rampuya&Co (1996). As one of the first manufacturers to relaunch the production of selvedge, the company first started to develop by selling its fabrics to luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton or Gucci before deciding, from 2006, to create its own brands Momotaro and Japan Blue.
In 2010, the Japan Blue line was born to expand Momotaro's offer. The idea is to be able to innovate by developing new fabrics for Japan Blue and to leave the most purist and traditional manufacturing to Momotaro. Today, these two labels control the entire manufacturing chain from start to finish, allowing for rigorous quality control and a step-by-step follow-up right up to the finished product.
