Washing
• wash your down jacket only when necessary
• machine wash at 30°C • 40°C max • to take care of your down jacket and the planet
• wash your down jacket with one to three clean tennis balls: the insulating wadding will be aired out during washing. Ideally, wash the down jacket on its own or with a small amount of clothing so as not to compress the insulating padding
• use a synthetic programme and use your usual detergent
• if you have a localized stain: be careful and treat the stain locally, by hand
Spinning and drying
• Drying is very important to restore the insulating power of the wadding. After washing, the down jacket will regain its loft over time: little by little
• in the washing machine: choose a soft spinning to avoid damaging the wadding
• in a tumble dryer • to be avoided • select the delicate or synthetic programme
• Dry flat in the open air, airing the quilt well so that the wadding regains its swelling power
• never dry the down jacket on a radiator
• do not iron, dry clean only
• after washing: if your down jacket remains flat, rub it gently and dynamically like a pillow so that the wadding can breathe and thus regain its loft
