Designed and knitted in France, the Hopaal Heritage jumper is made entirely from a blend of 100% post-consumer recycled and frayed wools. The result of an agreement between original and modern stitches, it is a prodigious embodiment of our philosophy; it excels in the art of revaluing the past and preserving the future.
Care
This is how to wash your Heritage jumper.
Our recommendation: hand wash cold, dry flat.
We strongly recommend washing your jumper by hand. Here are the 5 steps to follow for a successful hand wash.
1. Choose a clean container • sink, basin or other • and fill it with warm water.
2. Use a special soft wool detergent or Marseille soap to lather it up.
3. Dip your jumper in the soapy water and leave it to soak for 10-15 minutes, depending on its condition. Stir the water gently from time to time. Gently scrub any stains with Marseille soap.
4. Empty your container and rinse your jumper with warm water. Do not wring out your jumper and do not put it in the dryer: just squeeze it into a ball gently to let most of the water drain out.
5. Finally, dry it flat.
Wear it again!
Machine washing
If you absolutely must machine wash your Heritage Sweater and you trust it: use a "hand wash" cycle or the gentlest possible with the spin cycle at 600 rpm maximum. As usual, separate light and dark colours and do not use bleach or fabric softeners. To dry: do not use a tumble dryer, just dry your jumper flat.
Do not use fabric softener.
Fabric softener does not deteriorate the jumper, but it reduces the natural ability of the wool to breathe and regulate your temperature, so we strongly advise against it. Bleach should not be used: it literally destroys the wool.
