About Losanje

At the start of LOSANJE, it was realized that many people express their personality through their clothing style and thus acquire new clothes. However, the fashion sector has been identified as the second most polluting industry in the world, mainly due to brands' desire to create something new from new resources. In recent years, various initiatives have emerged to offer a concrete alternative to this model, including the use of recycled or organically grown fabrics. Together with the development of the second-hand market, these responses have paved the way for a new way of consuming clothes. Wishing to reconcile second-hand clothing, which they see as the most responsible way of consuming clothes, with new clothes, upcycling designers have emerged. They aspire to offer clothes with a very low environmental impact on the market. However, they have observed that this production method, which involves cutting up and then reassembling second-hand clothing and textiles, forces brands to offer unique pieces, often characterized by a very pronounced style. Faced with these challenges, a solution was envisaged. LOSANJE was created with the aim of defining the most environmentally-friendly production model possible, while going beyond the current limits of "upcycled" clothing production. The aim was to develop a brand representative of the necessary evolution of upcycling: accessible in terms of style, timeless while remaining at the cutting edge of trends, and offering the same customer experience as buying a new garment. Over a period of almost two years, a mass production method was developed, based on the principle of upcycling second-hand clothing and textiles. In order to bring their concept to fruition, LOSANJE had to overcome a number of challenges hindering the development of such a project. For example, LOSANJE required many weeks of collaboration with traditional garment workshops that had never before worked on an upcycling project. LOSANJE also had to meet, exchange and negotiate with textile and second-hand clothing recyclers. The aim was to raise awareness of their approach and present them with a new vision of sorting, no longer limited to traditional players in the sector such as thrift shops and recycling centers. Finally, LOSANJE had to develop a real brand identity and define the style of clothing they wanted to offer, taking into account their raw material constraints. Today, LOSANJE is proud to present the results of its work and reflections.
